Why Pyramid Analytics
Pyramid Analytics' BI Office is a business intelligence tool based on the Microsoft BI platform, including complex OLAP analysis and in-memory capabilities and offering governed data discovery, with robust analytic features.
Product Details
BI Office is distinct for its governed data discovery approach, meaning that a complete spectrum of analytics and data discovery tools are available within a single place.
BI Office is run with three different, but connected platforms: the “bioXL” interface, which focuses on data discovery and analytics, the “bioPoint” interface, for stories and dashboards, and the “bioWriter” interface, for report distribution and publishing. By combining these interfaces together into a single platform, Pyramid Analytics has created a very efficient and effective business intelligence tool. A fourth interface, “bioMiner”, is integrated for data mining purposes, as well.
Two of Pyramid’s more notable features include their Mobile and Cloud BI offerings.
Their Mobile web-based interface includes native apps for iOS, Windows 8.1, Android, and WinRT, and allows users to access their data anytime, anywhere. Because mobility is inherent in the Pyramid strategy and an integral part of the BI Office infrastrucutre, it operates much more cleanly and naturally. A simple, intuitive interface allows users to directly access what they need to see, no matter where they are.
Pyramid’s Cloud BI helps organizations overcome infrastructure challenge by enabling agile self-service BI and enhaning analytic capabilities. Complementing the Mobile offering, Cloud BI helps Power BI end-users be much more flexible in how (and from where) they access their information. Elastic server hosting means that delivery of data is efficient and quick, while maintaining the speed neccessary for real-time insights.

Customer Service & Support
Pyramid offers a login page on their site for users to submit and track help requests. They also have an email for general issues.
Their support page includes whitepapers, resource guides, troubleshooting manuals, and a news and updates center to provide users with in-depth assistance to an array of issues. They also have a separate "help desk" on the page that addresses how users can help the Pyramid support team to provide them with the best and most efficient service possible.
Their "Knowledge Base" page is a series of forums relating to specific problems, where users can discuss and interact with other customers that may be experiencing similar issues.
Shortcomings
Pyramid is currently working on adding more of the following: cloud data sources, collaboration features and integration, and enhancements to the user interface to make it even more accessible.
Pyramid's BI Office is designed to run with current Microsoft products. While this is excellent for those using Microsoft, Microsoft's own evolving BI platform puts Pyramid's current offerings at risk.
